An adult koala typically consumes about 1-2 kilograms (approximately 2-4 pounds) of eucalyptus leaves each day. Occasionally they will eat the leaves from some other native Australian trees, and they also use certain trees just for resting in They are found in various parts of Australia, with different populations preferentially eating leaves from different species of gum trees
